Let me just start by saying I am a Baby Strapped to me at all times kinda Mom. Well, when G was a Baby, not so much anymore. I love the feeling of a baby breathing and to feel their warmth. No such thing as spoiling a baby in my book. So, over the course of G’s first year, I went through a few carriers. Well, more specifically, my husband and I did. Here is my, well kind of our, baby carrier review.
K’tan was a baby shower gift and was my first carrier. I remember trying to figure it out in the parking lot at church. Didn’t think I would need instructions but I am glad that I had them with me. So, this carrier has really nice and soft kinda Jersey feeling fabric so I would size it to what you would normally wear in a shirt size. If you go to the companies website they have a really nice sizing guide. The design allows you to carry a Baby in a few different positions. G’s favorite was the kangaroo position. I would just try putting it on without the baby or use a stuffed animal first before putting the Baby in the carrier. One thing I have learned is if you are unsure or uncomfortable Babies can sense that ten miles away and will have no problem showing you. Loved that it could just be tossed in my diaper bag and that carrying positions could change as G grew.

Next came Wild Bird Ring Sling. Let me just say I kinda wished this was my first carrier. I think I would have been more confident with it if G had started in it earlier. I love this concept, the fabric used the versatility of the product. But, it was completely me that could just not get the positioning correct so that G could be comfortable. I mentioned if you are unsure or insecure about something Baby can sense it. Well, G was not a fan of this one and I know it was completely because of me. If we are ever blessed with another Baby I want like five Wild Bird Ring Slings They are just so beautiful and really are a wonderful way to carry your Baby. Or maybe just buy them to be super luxurious scarves. They also have a little mini version of the ring sling for your little one to use with their favorite baby dolly or stuffed animal. It is too cute for words and has a Velcro closure which is a nice safety feature too.
In my post about diaper bags I talked about a “Dadcare” package I put together for my husband when I went back to work. Well, this super awesome Mission Critical Baby carrier was in my package. He loved it, G loved it. My husband had G in it the wrong way but she would just suck on the lining while he walked around with her in it. This how G wold fall asleep for him and he could just unsnap the shoulder and set her down to sleep. This is a forward facing carrier but the company has come out with a new product which can carry your Baby either in or outward. This carrier is made with amazing industrial quality. It has a lot of great features which allow for a very personalized fit and plenty of places to add accessories.
Once G was a little older maybe like 15 months the K’tan was just not working for me anymore. Just her being a little bigger made the K’tan less comfortable for me. So I purchased a Happy Baby carrier. I fell in love with this carrier when I opened the box. The packaging alone is so adorable that it was on a shelf in the nursery for a wile. G was a little older when we tried this one so I carried her on my back. I was able to get her in and out with out much of a problem by myself. I just kinda put her on my hip and then twisted the carrier to my back. I love it, still have it for when we are out for long days and just need to changed things up for G. Super comfortable, many different colors to choose from. Oh, and you have got to see the mini carrier for your little one. It is off the charts adorable.
Last one is a find from just a couple of months ago. G was getting her second molars in and needed to be carried ALL OF THE TIME!!! My back will aching, trips to the chiropractor helped but really I needed to find something that would make G and my back, happy during this season. Totally thought the Tush Baby was a gimmick but I was willing to try it out to see if it worked. Let me just tell you this carrier pretty cool. It gave me a lot of support on my back and evenly distributed the weight so I was not moving my hip to the side to compensate. My back was so happy and so was G. Now that G does not need to be held constantly, I toss it in the bottom of the stroller. If we are going someplace I do not want a stroller this is my carrier. The Tush Baby Fits everything that I would need, snack, keys, phone, water in the compartments. I could still wear my diaper bag if I wanted to but I have really been OK without it.
